Yamide Dagnet
Yamide Dagnet is responsible for leading the vision and strategy for NRDC's International program and maximizing our impact. Prior to joining NRDC, Dagnet served as director of the climate justice program at Open Society Foundations, where she led its pursuit of climate and social justice in low- and middle-income countries and vulnerable communities. She implemented a multimillion-dollar climate justice portfolio that included advocacy, communication, impact investment, legal strategies, research, and more. She also led a startup unit that advanced the organization’s engagement and increased its reputation as a climate justice leader, helping shape the landmark decision to establish a fund to tackle vulnerable countries’ losses and damages due to climate change at the COP27 climate conference in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, and at COP28 in Dubai.
Previously, Dagnet also served as the director of climate negotiations at the World Resources Institute in Washington, D.C., where she focused on the equitable implementation of the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Dagnet is based in Washington, D.C.
