The creator and lead for NRDC's Issue with Tissue campaign, Shelley Vinyard works to hold major corporations and the financial sector accountable for their impacts to the world’s northern forests. She led the first-ever successful effort to pass a forest-related shareholder resolution, holding Procter & Gamble—maker of Charmin toilet paper—accountable for its ties to clearcutting in the boreal forest of Canada. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Financial Times, and CBS Mornings. Vinyard graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with degrees in psychology and sociology. She is based in Washington, D.C.
