Sami Yassa
Sami Yassa currently leads NRDC’s domestic initiatives in the Forests Aren’t Fuels campaign, where he focuses on biomass policies and forest carbon accounting. In addition, he works on initiatives to secure and implement corporate environmental policies governing green building, sustainable forestry, and environmental reporting in lending institutions. Yassa is an adjunct professor in physics at the University of New Hampshire, Durham. He has also taught in the department of physical sciences at the College of Marin and has served as a visiting instructor at Colby College and the University of California, Berkeley. He holds an M.S. in energy and resources from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. in physics from Colby College.
