Roger Baneman
Roger Baneman is an advisor to NRDC, working principally with the Green Finance & Economic Development program. He is a retired tax partner of the law firm of Shearman & Sterling LLP. His projects have included the potential use for clean energy investing of public capital market vehicles such as REITs, mutual funds, and publicly traded partnerships; the organization of a network for green banks; and green infrastructure programs for stormwater management. Early in his career, he served in Treasury’s Office of Tax Legislative Counsel, first as attorney-advisor and then as acting associate tax legislative counsel. He also taught as an adjunct professor at Cardozo Law School. Baneman has a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Yale College.
