Robyn Arville (she/her)
As the chief people and DEI officer, Robyn Arville is responsible for developing NRDC's talent strategy and principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as guiding the organization to create a culture that embraces innovation, learning, resilience, and joy.
Prior to NRDC, Arville was the chief talent and culture officer at the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization that runs Wikipedia. Before that, she was head of People and Culture at the Public Library of Science and spent six years at Humanity United, a human rights philanthropic foundation. She has also worked at various healthcare and biotechnology organizations, from small startups to large global organizations.
Arville has more than 20 years in the field of people and culture. Some of her areas of expertise include organizational design and effectiveness, workforce planning, talent development, performance facilitation, total rewards, and employee engagement and well-being—all with a deep focus on embedding DEI principles and cultivating and leading a culture of dignity.
In her current role, Arville leads and develops credible teams, while supporting the human capital implications of NRDC’s ambitious growth plans—always realizing and leveraging the deep value that a diverse and inclusive workforce can contribute to the work of a leading environmental organization.
Arville is based in NRDC’s San Francisco office.
